Seng Kee Black Chicken Herbal Soup: Rich, Nourishing, Herbal Broth

There are some places in Singapore that we commonly affiliate things with. Mention Lavender, and making passports and casket stores come to mind. Yishun houses the weirdest people, Tampines contains my enormous junk, and Kembangan has Seng Kee's famous kidney mee sua.

Their business extends a few shops long as a single coffee shop can no longer fulfill the demand for seats, a testament to their success. Open deep into the night, this place is a popular supper spot for night owls in the east.

Kidney Mee Sua $5
Piping hot, herbal goodness with tender chunks of pork, liver and kidney accompanied well with the smooth, fall apart in your mouth mee sua. Visit late at night and you will find that the broth is even more robust from simmering throughout the day. I feel so ready to give birth to ten thousand babies after a bowl. Be mindful that their chili padi packs a serious heat with a lasting burning sensation.

Hei Zho (Prawn Rolls) $12
A must order here is the hei zho, deep fried golden nuggets of prawn and water chestnut fillings which gives it a crispy exterior, while retaining a soft, crunchy interior. The sweet dip on the side also provides a nice contrasting flavour. They do their hei zho better than most zhi char places around Singapore.
