XIn Mei Xiang Zheng Zong Lor Mee: Legendary Lor Mee

If you do a Google search of "legendary lor mee", you will find that Xin Mei Xiang Zheng Zong Lor Mee comes out on top.  Bo gong jiao wei, try it out. Naturally, i had to head down to find out what the hype is all about.

Lo and behold, a queue that was so long that my stubble grew out by the time i reached the front. What's scarier was the auntie cutting off the line a few people after me, and telling them "sorry, all sold out" at only 12.30pm. Fortunately for me, i was wearing my lucky red underwear with a golden 'huat' chinese character that day.

They even switched off the lights before i got close enough to snap a picture of their stall.. Bowls start from $4, but the prices are justifiable by the orgasmic experience you are bound to receive.

Lor Mee $4
Wew. Trust me when i say this is the smoothest and richest lor mee gravy I've ever tasted. It embodied a fragrant aroma from the spices and had just the right consistency, not too starchy or thin. The yellow noodles were springy, while the flakey fish chunks added a different dimension to the dish. Of course, no lor mee is complete without sambal chili, black vinegar and minced garlic, although i felt that more of the latter could have been added.

Because people like watching me play around with my food. That gravy tho... The portion given was decent, but probably not enough to fill a young growing boy such as myself, so don't hesitate to go for the $5 and $6 bowls. With the insane amount of queues nowadays in Singapore, it's good to find one that does not end up in disappointment.
TLDR: Is this worth the hype? Absolutely.

Lor Mee Fact!: Lor mee originated from Xiamen, where they have a version of noodles served with ngoh hiang. This explains why most lor mee are served with ngoh hiang as one of the many toppings.
