Irodori Japanese Restaurant: Unlimited Sashimi Heaven
There are days when i wake up with a huge craving for good Japanese food, yet masturbating to pictures of salmon belly sashimi still wouldn't make it go away. Irodori is my go to place on such occasions. Firstly, for it's affordable price point, and secondly, the consistently quality of their dishes.
Thick and fresh cuts of Sashimi to kickstart the meal (and this food blog). Even though Salmon is my absolute favourite, the buttery Mekajiki (Swordfish) here makes me want to have an affair and elope with it.

Each customer is entitled to a serving of Ebi Mentai Mayo, prawns generously lathered with creamy mentaiko and then blowtorched to perfection. Guaranteed to shoot up your cholesterol levels for the week, but as a wise man once said: "It's ok to die from eating ebi mentai mayo."- Kent 2017

The one thing on their menu that keeps me going back? The Handrolls. Wait wait before you call IMH on me for eating carbs at a buffet, allow me to explain. The temaki here is on another level, especially the Spider (Soft Shell Crab) and Salmon Mayo.
Each handroll is generously stuffed with so many fillings that it might break down and cry if you don't pay it a compliment. Good handroll.. who's a good handroll? Be sure to devour them while the seaweed is still crisp!

I have a soft spot for Agedashi Tofu and will always order it if available. Credit to the chefs for the perfect two biter serving size to reserve space for the other dishes. So smart.

Other special mentions on the menu that you should try include the Ebi and Shitake Tempura. The light and crispy batter makes them dangerously addictive like meth, which you definitely should NOT try. Always say no to drugs, kids. Also, their Yaki Udon (stir fried udon noodles) is so Q that it dances with your tongue in the mouth.
Unfortunately, the buffet does not include desserts. But who needs desserts when you can have more sashimi? I'll just imagine this as salmon pudding and the handrolls as crabby ice cream cones...
