Omotesando Koffee: It's Koffee with a K

Hipster alert! Hipster alert! The famed Omotesando Koffee is now in Singapore. Having first started out as a pop-up in Tokyo and then expanding to Hong Kong, we now have our very own branch at Downtown Gallery.

Judging by the queue, it seems like the whole of Singapore already knew.. I visited at 2pm and the place was still packed with office workers trying to get a cuppa. It took 15 mins to purchase my drink, and a further 15 mins to receive it.

However, the waiting time is undoubtedly justified as your koffee is made freshly in front of you, while the barista enquires about each individual's preferences and meticulously tweaks it accordingly. It's this added personal touch that makes every cup feel special.

The beverages here are similarly priced compared to other premium koffee brands, although the regular size is miniscule so you are better off ordering a large cup, especially if you had to queue for as long as i did.

It was a joy to observe the baristas creating my drink from scratch. Their flair and expertise made it feel as if i was watching a performance instead of ordering koffee. Also, beautiful latte art aside, is it just me or is it pretty obvious that some levels of flirting was going on between me and the female barista? I mean she drew me a heart shape so that counts as a confession right? I think i'm in love.

Iced Cafe Mocha $6.80
I kind of screwed up by saying yes to the whipped cream, although it's not entirely my fault as i was just blindly agreeing to everything she asked. So instead of getting a bubbly, foamy, chocolate powder covered beauty, i got this mess. Still, the aroma of koffee beans was strongly infused within the expresso and noticeably more fragrant than others i have had. Along with the sweetness from the chocolate syrup, whipped cream and her love, it was a refreshing respite on a humid day.

Cafe Latte (L) $6
I did not taste the latte so i can't give an honest review. However, my koffee loving friend gave a detailed and comprehensive review of two words: 好喝! (Translator's note: 好喝 means good)

Don't forget to take an instagram worthy photo of your drink with their signboard. It's the least you can do for your inner hipster self after queuing for an eternity although i can confirm that it was embarrassing AF with the massive line judging me. One of the better koffee experiences around, i can see why caffeine lovers are willing to spend half an hour of their lives waiting for it. Rest assured i'll be back to propose to the female barista to get my cup of foamy, bubbly goodness right the next time.
