Taste Good: Sim Lim Square's Salted Egg Gem

Running low on funds? Want to have a tasty meal in Bugis without selling your kidney? There is now another reason to visit Sim Lim Square besides purchasing hardware and getting your money tok-ed by Jover Chew.

Located at one of the corners of level 2, Taste Good is a semi zi char stall that sells delicious rice sets that only cost $5 each.

We ordered all the recommendations from the friendly lady boss as she has really good taste and i would entrust her with naming my first child. Note: This opinion is totally not influenced by her referring to me as 小弟 (little boy).

Salted Egg Chicken with Rice $5 (additional meat $2, with egg $0.50)

First of all, the salted egg sauce is incredible. Fragrant, creamy and spicy from the chili padi, it ticked all the boxes. Coated over the crispy chicken and topped with a runny sunny side up, we found ourselves needing more rice after ordering the upsized version.

Creamy Butter Pork Ribs with Rice $5 (additional meat $2, with egg $0.50)

The butter sauce was comparably milder than their salted egg counterpart, but nonetheless, it was still very compatible with rice. The tender and boneless pork ribs were also a delight to munch on.
