Wang Wang Crispy Curry Puff: It's Going To Get Messy

Ahhh curry puffs... a versatile, savoury snack good at anytime of the day, either to fill up the tummy from an unsatisfying meal or to hang in there until the next. Whoever thought of stuffing curried potatoes into a deep fried pastry should be awarded with a Nobel Peace Prize.

While we are giving out prizes, let's give one to Wang Wang Crispy Curry Puff as well, for their freshly made curry puffs handed to you still piping hot. At a food battleground like Old Airport Food Centre, it speaks volumes that i would specially reserve some stomach space just for this .

Crispy Curry Puff $1.40
Almost lost a few of my fingers while taking this shot. That shit is crazy hot but like a beautiful girl, a gorgeous puff like this is worth getting your hands dirty. Be warned, opposed to Old Chang Kee's thick outer crust, Wang Wang's version is lighter but extremely flaky. When i split my puff open, it almost seemed like a million pieces of dandruff landed on my hands. Okay... maybe that wasn't the most appealing comparison.. but you get what i mean. The creamy, curried potatoes were yummy but the ratio of fillings to flour could have been more generous.

Crispy Black Pepper Puff $1.60
Another highly rated puff that you must get is the black pepper version. These are packed with well seasoned chunks of saucy black pepper chicken and represents more value for a mere extra 20 cents. Just remember not to scald your tongue while tucking in!
